DC-id is a new technology to revolutionarize the energy distribution for low power DC powered devices like consumer electronics, portable devices and other systems that usually require an AC adapter (wall-wart) in order to be used.
Traditionally, each device is
supplied by the
manufacturer with an AC adapter that is single use and it is tailored
for a single
device. This is unattractive for the manufacturer because the price of
the electronic
equipment needs to include the cost of the wall-wart. The user realy
does not want yet another ugly brick laying
around just to power the new device or appliance.
Because of the high variety of DC powered devices, it is impossible to standardize to a single DC specification to cover all the products (something like the AC distribution system).
Examples of DC powered devices include:

Having said that, the user is left struggling with countless AC adapters, both for the stationary devices and also when traveling. These application specific wall-warts are a burden for the environment since they are used only with single and possible short lived device.

Retired wall-warts!
The current "Universal" solution[s] offer replacement for a lost/damaged power supply, but the required mixing and matching is not trivial for a non-technical user.
So who's right, Thomas A. Edison with his DC electric power distribution or
Nikola Tesla with high voltage AC?
Depends: AC is
the solution for long distance and/or high power; DC makes more sense
for low power devices, like the consumer electronics, offering lower cost
and space savings.
DC-id
is the technology that
enables creation of a true universal DC power
distribution system, allowing a device to be powered from a DC-id
compliant power supply without any user assistance and with 100%
confidence the device will work properly.
This is done not by
forcing the system's designers to use a single voltage distribution but
by adding
smarts and configurability to the power conversion circuitry which is
embedded in the wall-wart.
Huge list of applications:We don't promiss a single, mighty adapter which will solve all
your needs. That is not cost effective!
What we have to offer is a system with universal adapters which are
able to power
devices in some specification range
(say one for max 10W another one for max 30W and so on). Also, our
technology guarantees the things are set properly (otherwise the user
is informed w/o the any risk of damaging his/hers device) and offers
multi
output capabilities, so a single adapter
can serve multiple devices.

Nobody likes wall-warts!
